What does the Beurer Safety System (BSS) entail?
The overheating protection system is based on a heating element with two windings of resistance wires around it, separated by an insulation layer. The intermediate polyethylene (PE) insulation base has a lower melting temperature than the outer polyvinyl chloride (PVC) insulation.

In the event of local overheating, the intermediate (PE) insulation melts and the resistance wires of the two windings come into electrical contact. Depending on the location of the local overheating or short circuit of the two windings, either the resistance fuse or the overheating temperature of the overheating protection system will trip and permanently switch off the device.
