Why a blood pressure monitor

A blood pressure monitor is useful if you want to measure your blood pressure at home. For example, if you have a heart or vascular disease or are taking medication for high blood pressure. You can then monitor your blood pressure yourself.

Heart rate measurement and irregular heartbeat

In addition to your blood pressure, this blood pressure monitor also measures your heart rate. If your heart rate is irregular during the measurement (arrhythmia), you will see a message on the blood pressure monitor. You do not have to worry right away. But if this happens more often, it is wise to contact your (family) doctor. Only your doctor can determine whether there is really arrhythmia.

WHO (World Health Organization)

The WHO provides guidelines for the measurement values of a blood pressure monitor. You can read more about this in the Inventum manual of this device. In the accompanying table you can see whether your blood pressure is low, normal or high. Does your blood pressure deviate greatly from normal? Then contact your (family) doctor.

ESH (European Society of Hypertension)

You need to be able to trust that a blood pressure monitor measures accurately. But how do you know that? ESH is an organization that extensively tests blood pressure monitors and they have approved the BDP421.
